April saw the second of the popular Flickr Photo themes kicking off on Seven by Five. The theme for April was “Forgotten”. This post features twenty five of the great contributions to the flickr group.
I would really encourage you to take part in the monthly challenges simply from the point of view that it forces you to take a particular style of photo but also it is amazing how much you can learn looking at how others interpret a theme.

May’s Theme
To take part in the monthly theme simply join the flickr group and add your photos tagged with the theme for that month. May’s theme is “Bokeh in Black and White” : which is the word that describes the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image. Bokeh occurs for parts of the scene that lie outside the depth of field.
Photographers sometimes deliberately use a shallow focus. So get your camera out and add some black and white bokeh photos to the flickr group. (Remember to tag your submissions bokeh).

I always enjoy seeing these theme projects. Seeing the different vision that each photographer brings to the the theme and the creativity involved is inspiring. One of these days I’ll give it a shot myself.
