Photography is more than a job or career, it’s a lifestyle. Being introduced to photography at a young age, it has played a large part in my life and will naturally continue to do so. Hardly a day will have passed without having something to hand in which I can capture a moment albeit an iPhone or my Canon 5D Mark II.
I am a UK based editorial and commercial photographer, specializing in location lighting. Inspiration for my photography comes from the people you meet, and the fascinating stories they have to tell. In such a short space of time, photography has already taken me places I would never of thought possible.
It’s because of this that this year I have embarked on a large scale personal project photographing different career paths and the unique individuals behind them, with the unique stories they have to tell. Creating themed and theatrical environmental portraits will allow me to portray much more about the individuals career in a single photograph, giving the viewer a real insight into their career.
Being entirely self taught, I am able to carry out work in various different fields of photography, from portrait to stock and landscape to automotive. Like most, I love travelling and what passions go better hand in hand than photography and travel. Last year I was lucky enough to visit several international destinations and thoroughly enjoyed documenting my travels. Below is a shot of “Paris at Dusk” taken from the Tour Montparnasse high aloft the 59th floor as the breath taking city and it’s iconic Eiffel Tower takes on a golden glow from the fleeting sun.
A natural perfectionist at heart, I pride myself on having an incredible eye for detail which will show through in my results. In my first year as a professional full time photographer, I have been published in many leading publications and had my work represented worldwide by photographic manufacturers.
The last topic this profile had to cover is the future, and one thing that photography has taught me over the past year is you have to be ready for anything. Whether thats a challenging photoshoot, or a radically diverse client, no day is ever the same and makes photography all the more exciting.
In short, you have to be ready for anything, and if you are, photography can be one of the most rewarding careers in the world. Here’s to the future and thanks for reading!
