I‘m a self-taught hobby photographer based in Austria. I started photographing in 2008 and came to this topic through small detours. I was looking for a creative activity in my spare time as a balance for my daily life. As I was always fascinated by technical things I could already bring in my gained experience into photography from the first day on.
To my opinion high-speed photography is one of the most interesting and challenging fields in photography. In this technique the combination of physics and technics with photography is required. I can make use of technical knowledge gained through education and my profession. Many different tasks have to be considered and many lessons have to be learned before taking a perfect shot. These challenges are very exciting for me to meet. I really like to try different mixtures and settings.
Besides the technical challenges high-speed photography also represents a new source of inspiration to me. The possibility to make things visible that cannot be recognized by the naked eye in everyday life is one of the driving forces to me. It incites me to try new sceneries to get a deeper and better view into things I would not be able to see without photography.
At the moment my main focus lies on photographing crowns. Most of the people on earth serve cream with a coffee or cake. Yes, I also use a cream. But in my work, I do not consume cream, but mix it with acrylic color and capture moments which are just too fast for the human eye. Within a blink of an eye completely new types and arrangements of crowns are formed. I really love to see the development of different shapes and colors depending on the settings used. Every picture is unique. By this way my creativity can be challenged again and again through colors and the general arrangements. Another fascinating part for me is to get the different interpretations of each person. From my point of view, photography allows one to see the world with different eyes. One can discover that a sky is not only beautiful at dawn or dusk but also when a thunderstorm is coming. In my current work I can show people a new insight into cream and what can be generated if you not only use it in combination with coffee and cake. Unique shapes in combination with different colors begin to rise. I hope that people can enjoy this special passion or only get inspired by these marvellous forms and shapes.
