Last year the creative force behind Photojojo!, a site with 160,000 monthly readers devoted to ‘the world of things you can do with your photos and camera released their very first Photo tips book. The book brings photo lovers dozens of projects that creatively incorporate their favourite images, along with camera tips and tricks and great photography advice.
Many of the DIY projects require only general crafting skills such as cutting and gluing and so are accessible to all. The book contains around 50 projects that tackle home decor, personal accessories and gifts, such as a D.I.Y. Snow Globe, How to Make Photo Tattoos and even a Photo Chandelier.
The book is fully illustrated with photographs that take you easily, step by step through each stunning project. The book is a bargain coming at around £15 with 161 pages of tips and advice. These days most families own a digital camera and take hundreds of photos of Christmas, Birthdays etc but the photos often end up gathering digital dust sitting in folders on hard drives, well not anymore !
The Photo Jojo book is aimed at those struggling to come up with ideas of what to do with the photos they take and how to present them creatively.
There are only so many photos you can have on your wall or photo frames around the living room, now with the help of this book you can create photo wallets, Photo lamp shades and even 3D photo glasses frames.
If you are looking for the perfect gift for the photographer who has everything this is definitely the gift. The book steers clear of telling you how to process your images (other than a couple of pages at the start suggesting ways you can enhance your current photo library). Instead it focuses on how to make the most of your photographs.
Family Fun Night
If you are looking for a few ideas of things to do as a family this book is a haven of ideas. Naturally some of the projects will require some adult supervision and help but there are definitely a few projects worth exploring with the kids and at the same time allowing them to decorate their rooms with their photo creations.
You don’t need a flashy SLR basically anything that takes photos (including the iPhone) will be perfect, actually I really don’t think there would be camera owner out there who wouldn’t get sort of inspiration from this book.
The book was released initially in the US stating that UK customers wouldn’t be able to get their hands on the book until November. I am happy to say my book arrived last week via Amazon.
The current UK price is less than £15 is currently available via Amazon.co.uk and is definitely worth every penny.
