This week we asked about your favourite photographic subject. It was really interesting to watch how Landscape photography and People photography battled throughout the week for first place.
The results are actually really interesting, in some ways they are an opportunity to diversify and develop your niche.
I did expect the results to be a little more evenly spread and am probably most surprised at both Macro and Fine Art photography.
I would love to hear what you think of the results, do they surprise you and is there anything we can learn from the fact we all appear to love taking photos of people and landscapes ?
If you have any suggestions for future polls please let us know in the comments.

I’m surprised by the results. I expected people photography to edge out everything else by a wide margin.

I’m not really sure what to make of those results but i’d be interested to know what the people who voted ‘other’ actually photograph. I voted for ‘other’ as my main interest is birds/wildlife which wasn’t on the list.

I might argue that landscape and people photography are more universal and easily accessible to any photographer. Fina art and macro photography may require more specialized equipment, be it lenses, lighting or post-production. Just my initial thoughts on the subject! Really interesting results, though.

I was surprised that 5% said macro, my favorite photography. No special equipment except for a macro setting and a dose of patience required 🙂 I’ve even had success with using my EVO phone. Never tried macro photography? Try it. It’s an interesting world when viewed up close and personal.
