I am a self taught photographer with degrees in broadcast journalism and documentary film production. My life and work has been heavily influenced by my involvement in various performing arts since a young age. While I no longer act, sing, dance, or do gymnastics, I do still play and study classical piano. My self portraits allow me to use elements of my artistic past, which I love. I love taking elements of different art forms and using them to inspire the work that I create.
The tones and imagery from the renaissance and pre-raphaelite painters, along with inspiration from fantasy, concept, and fashion photographers are where I draw much of my inspiration from. I also pull inspiration from literature, music, and even the creative power of childrens’ minds. I love the non-niche I’ve developed for myself, in that I simply specialize in people. I photograph everything including weddings, lifestyle photography, models, musicians, and fine art pieces. I also am passionate about traveling, and love capturing the places I am so fortunate to visit.
In addition to still photography, I have been a skycam operator (aerial videography) for ABC, NBC, Fox, and now WGN News in Chicago. This unique job has granted me a unique perspective of my beautiful city, and has allowed me to create an aerial photography and videography portfolio for myself. Most mornings, I take photographs of the sunrise through the city skyline with either my iPhone or my DSLR, and post them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for my friends, clients, and fans to view.
I look forward to having my work published in magazines and used for a variety of purposes in life, as well as showcasing my artistic images in gallery events. I also plan on using my talents for several humanitarian purposes, beginning in the very near future. My latest work can be seen either on my blog or on Facebook.
