My name’s Eduardo Acierno, I’m a 17 year old self-taught photographer from Mexico.
When I was 14, my parents gave me my first camera, and I developed this obsession with documenting everything around me, I couldn’t spend a day without taking pictures, that’s when I found flickr, and totally fell in love with all the photos young photographers like me posted, that actually inspired me and made me push myself a little harder to try to stand out.
My work mainly focuses in conceptual photography, which are mostly self portraits, where I portray most of my current emotions, I mean, If you really want to know how I feel like, you just gotta look at my work.
Through my manipulations, I try to create the impossible, to make you see what I see, I think my pictures are the tangible evidence of my vivid imagination.
I’ve been doing a lot of fashion work, I love the idea of shooting editorials and just creating fantastic stuff while being behind the camera, I’ trying to get myself out there, doing what I love the most.
Tim Walker is my biggest inspiration photography wise , his pictures are mind-blowing, and its the perfect example of “tangible evidence of a great imagination” he creates the impossible though his HUGE props and locations.
Also, I’ve always been inspired by Tim Burton, I love every single movie, concept, art piece, he’s done. His perfect combination of dark / childish themes creates masterpieces.
Some movies that constantly inspire me to take new photos are:
The pan’s Labyrinth, any Tim Burton film (especially Sweeney Todd and sleepy hollow), and Where The Wild Things Are.
I’ve been lucky enough to be featured in multiple magazines, either for my work, or for my fashion editorials, 4 of my images made it into Vogue.it and that was one of the best moments ever.
I really hope I can keep growing as a photographer, I’ll just do what I love and hope for the best.
