From an early age I was attracted to photography and the ability to create images from the wonderful world around me. I was lucky to work with and know many world famous photographers. Hashi, Don McCullin, Marilyn Bridges, Grant Peterson, Jeff Botz to name a few. I worked with Hashi Studio in Manhattan for five years and now I am based in Pinehurst, NC.
My personal images are created to connect with a wide demographic. My goal is to draw the viewer in by stimulating something in their memory. Hopefully, good feelings about an event or space in their past. Photography had been a hobby since the early age of five. My aunt had known Yousuf Karsh and I was inspired by his images of Hollywood actors.
There were a great number of silent film stars in and around the village where I grew up in New York. Not only stars but camera men and directors. Some were on my paper route so I would always see if I could see the film stills and hear a story. That is one type of photography I would really be great at, Stills Photographer. I have been dreaming about it all my life.
During the early 90’s I was lucky enough to be the first photographer to have a photographic image on a snowboard. I would really like my work to be seen and enjoyed on a national basis and hope to shoot for Garden & Gun, Coastal Living, Rolling Stone and Dwell this year. I am also saving up to go to Nepal with my friend Jeff Botz, Himalayan photographer.
