Photography cures my silent voice. It’s about creating a link to the outside world. Creating a trust relationship with the other even as evanescent as this relation can be shooting in the streets or as long-lasting as it is while I’m shooting portraits and reportage for non-profits organizations or galleries.
The photographic act is a movement to the otherness, highlighting and revealing its inherent humanity, beauty or peace. That’s some of what I’m looking for in photography. It aims rebuilding a constructive and positive vision of oneself and the world around us and creating an awareness of the relationship between these. It’s to say that I don’t take a picture, I try to share from myself to the outside world to understand and seize an image of it.
The model or the subject and me, we always interact in creating together a photograph. I am mainly influenced by the humanists photographs from the young times of photography in France and beyond, like Wily Roonis, Vivian Maier, Robert Doisneau, Robert Capa, Nadar among many others. I also perform geometric explorations in framing my images while playing with architectures, flight point, perspectives, empty spaces and textures. As I first discovered it in Piero Della Francesca paintings.
At the moment I’m writing these words I’m developing my professional activity as a photographer specialized in portraiture, documenting events of all kinds for enterprise, private and non-profit organizations. I aspire to build a personal “through my eyes” aesthetic and graphic style to develop fine arts photographs.
